The Gastroparesis Kitchen

Practical recipes organised by physical form, with particle checkpoints that make texture easier to judge when gastric emptying is delayed.

Seven-day plan

Free 7-Day Gastroparesis Meal Plan

Seven days of soft, small-particle breakfasts, lunches and dinners with all 21 recipes and a printable shopping list. Small particle size is the part of current dietary guidance these recipes implement, and it is the part a recipe can actually control. Each is written at an ordinary serving size — around 580 kcal — so if you are eating to a smaller-meal pattern, they divide cleanly into two sittings. A rotation to cook from alongside your own dietetic care, rather than a complete daily intake target.

Topic

Gastroparesis

Meals built soft and small-particle, which is the dietary lever a recipe can genuinely control and one current guidance supports. Portion size is yours to set: these are written at an ordinary serving and divide in two if you are eating smaller and more often. Diagnosing, curing or treating gastroparesis is not something food does. If eating is not going in, if you are dehydrated or losing weight without meaning to, that needs a clinician rather than a different recipe.

Guide

Drinking your dinner is a technique, not a defeat

Liquid and blended meals get treated as the bottom of a ladder people feel ashamed to be standing on. The clinical logic runs the other way, because the realistic alternative to a blended meal is very often no meal at all.

Free recipe

Smooth Oat and Banana Porridge with Milk

Rolled oats simmered well past the usual point and then blended with ripe banana, milk powder and a knob of butter into a pourable porridge with no grain left in it.

Free recipe

Creamed Eggs on Soft White Toast

Soft-boiled eggs chopped small and folded through a thin milk sauce, spooned over trimmed white toast and left a minute to soak in.

This cookbook is practical food and texture support for people managing gastroparesis. It does not diagnose gastroparesis, promise symptom control, adjust medicines or insulin, or replace individualized nutrition and medical care when intake, hydration or weight are concerns.
