CERNERE

Knowledge · Care · Food. CERNERE publishes evidence-checked recipes and cooking guides for people eating around a health condition — coeliac disease, reflux, gastroparesis, kidney stones, psoriasis, fatty liver, a jaw that will not open far.

Three things make that different from the rest of the internet's recipe supply, and all three can be checked in the next click. Every health claim is cited, and the claims are published in full for each topic — includingthe ones we refuse to make. Per-serving nutrition is computed from measured quantities against national food-composition data rather than asserted. And the recipes and seven-day meal plans are complete and free: not samples, not gated, and not the same recipes as the books.

Why CERNERE?

The name is drawn from the Latin cernere: to distinguish, discern or sift. That is the job here. Research is rarely a neat list of foods that are simply “good” or “bad”, and practical cooking is rarely solved by repeating a nutrition headline. The work is to separate useful evidence from weak claims, apply judgement, and then make the result usable in an ordinary kitchen.

The three-part motto is the same idea in shorter form: Scientia for knowledge, Cura for care and Cibus for food. None of those works well alone. Evidence without practical care can produce unusable advice; care without evidence can drift into confident folklore; and neither matters much if the food is not worth eating.

What the site is for

The site is intentionally useful without an account. It contains complete recipes, seven-day starter weeks, researched Guides, printables and browser-local planning tools. Health-adjacent collections explain what a recipe relationship means and what it does not mean. Evidence Guides link back to the sources they rely on rather than turning individual ingredients into treatment claims.

The commercial model is simple: the free material stays complete and useful. Paid books have to earn the sale by being larger, easier to navigate, more convenient to keep, and better suited to sustained use in print or ebook form.

CERNERE is the publishing identity used for the recipes, Guides and tools on this site. Individual medical advice, diagnosis and treatment remain outside its scope.

How the evidence is handled

Health-adjacent Guides use source-linked evidence records and explicit claim boundaries rather than ingredient-as-treatment marketing. Read the research and editorial standards for the source hierarchy, citation method and update approach.

Designed for different ways of using the site

The interface includes responsive layouts, Easy Read mode, keyboard-friendly controls and print-first outputs. The accessibility statement explains what is designed and what is deliberately not claimed.

What CERNERE publishes

Books, and a free seven-day recipe week behind every one of them. The recipes on this site are written separately from the books and stay free whether or not a book is ever bought.
