Ingredients

Why metric?

Metric avoids regional spoon ambiguity. US uses 5 mL tsp, 15 mL tbsp and 240 mL cup. Small masses stay in grams unless a verified recipe conversion exists. More on measurements

  • 60 g rolled oats (dry)
  • 330 ml milk (340 g)
  • 250 g ripe mango flesh, chopped
  • 1 ripe banana, peeled (120 g)
  • 200 g Greek yoghurt
  • 20 g honey
  • 1 g ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Put the oats and milk in the blender first and leave them 5 minutes to soften. Oats blended in dry stay gritty however long you run the motor.
  2. Add the mango, banana, yoghurt, honey and cinnamon.
  3. Blend on high for a full minute, stopping once to scrape down the sides, until completely smooth. Rub a drop between finger and thumb: if you can still feel oat grit, give it another 30 seconds.
  4. Pour into two tall glasses and thin with a little more milk if it is too thick to drink easily.
  5. Best drunk straight away, while it is cold and still aerated.
